Episode 19: Robert Young Pelton on Southern Sudan

I signed up a while ago for the RYP newsletter, so when it dropped into my box on Monday I wasn't surprised. It was a quick note from the man himself about a recent piece he'd done for VICE on South Sudan.

I asked if he wanted to come pimp the piece on the PTPC and I got slightly more than I asked for.

This is without a doubt the most fact filled and deep podcast we've done.

You probably have a personal narrative of Africa in general that goes something like this: hot, shit hole, large animals, poor, dangerous, needs help.

If that's what you think, stand by to have your ideas turned on their head. It took about 90 minutes for Robert to walk Steve & I through what's going on there, and we still only scratched the surface.
